Maersk EDI implementation

Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is the electronic interchange of business information using a standardized format; a process which allows one organization to send information to another organization electronically. Business entities conducting business electronically are called trading partners. EDI replaces the faxing and mailing of paper documents.

iENGINEERING has implemented the Maersk EDI service on an international container terminal at one of the busiest sea ports in the world. The service is implemented as a back-end Windows service that automatically processes the EDI files received from MAERSK Line, which is one of the world’s largest container shipping companies. It also has a web interface that allows the administrator users to login and view complete details regarding any cargo container. The graphical user interface of the system has been designed to be intuitive and user-friendly allowing the users to perform their day-to-day tasks easily.

Following are the technology and application domain areas serviced by iENGINEERING for the Maersk EDI Implementation project:

  • Maersk Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) protocol implementation
  • Back-end Windows service development
  • Web-based software development
  • Microsoft SQL Server RDBMS implementation
